Nevercode is announcing a new CEO

Aug 31, 2019

We are pleased to inform you that starting from September 1st, 2019, Martin Jeret, currently Product & Development Manager for Codemagic, will take over the role of CEO of Nevercode. Co-founders Triin Kask and Kristian Sägi will step down from their managerial positions as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer respectively, and will continue to be part of the company’s success as members of the Advisory Board.

The story of Nevercode

Nevercode has come a long way under the management of Triin Kask and Kristian Sägi. Within a short time frame, the company has released three successful products: Nevercode CI/CD in March 2017, Codemagic CI/CD in late 2018 and Testmagic in early 2019. Along with the birth of Codemagic, which is dedicated to apps built with Flutter, the company has developed an ongoing partnership with Google and shifted much of its attention to Flutter and the community around it. Today, Codemagic is the de facto CI/CD tool for many Flutter app developers around the world.

Handing over the reins

The decision to appoint Martin Jeret the new CEO of Nevercode was unanimously supported by all stakeholders. Triin and Kristian are happy with the choice and are convinced that Martin is a great fit for this role.

Triin Kask says: “We started with Nevercode CI/CD, which targets enterprises and professional mobile developers. It is now a mature product that is used both by smaller companies and big corporations. Codemagic, on the other hand, is dedicated to Flutter, a newcomer among other mobile app development frameworks which is very much driven by the community behind it. Addressing this market is a different realm entirely. Codemagic has evolved hand-in-hand with Flutter, and I am happy to have been part of it. Martin has the right mindset to take the company to the next level by providing Codemagic users the same level of maturity as Nevercode CI/CD customers are experiencing.”

Kristian Sägi says: “As co-founders of the company, we want the best for it. We felt it was time to make some changes to continue this journey on an even larger scale with new projects and initiatives and to further develop the collaboration with our key partners. I have full confidence in Martin and believe that he will take the success story of Flutter and Codemagic to new heights. Me and Triin will continue to support the new management as part of the Advisory Board.”

Meet Martin Jeret, the new CEO

Martin Jeret has been involved with Codemagic from the start and is excited for the new role. “I’m very thankful for Triin and Kristian for the work that they put in to bring Nevercode and Codemagic to where it is today and also for fostering a great relationship between Google, Flutter and Nevercode. I’m also very excited about the times and possibilities ahead, especially after seeing the growth of Flutter and Nevercode since December.”

The immediate future

While the company continues to develop and enhance all of its products, there is a lot of work to be done in the fast-evolving world of Flutter. Martin sheds some light on the company’s plans in that regard: “Codemagic is the leading CI/CD tool for Flutter developers around the world and we will continue to be the experts in this domain. There is so much we can offer to businesses experimenting with or adopting Flutter. In order to truly help the community, we must also pave the path for businesses adopting Flutter or consolidating their app development. Support for multiple platforms and Flutter add-to-app functionality is one of the areas Codemagic enterprise solutions will focus on.”

Nevercode’s long-term vision

In the long term, the vision for Nevercode is to create an app release ecosystem. “Our latest product Testmagic, which will be an open-source beta testing platform, will play a major role in this because of its synergy with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) tools,” says Martin Jeret. Enterprises going to cloud computing are looking for end-to-end solutions that they can readily adopt in their mobile app development process. Martin continues: “The problem is that there is an abundance of tools that are disconnected and cumbersome for businesses to adopt. There is a clear niche in the end-to-end issue management and app distribution market that Nevercode is in a perfect position to overtake.”

Nevercode will continue its efforts to provide premium service to its existing and new users across all products while focusing on its long-term vision. The next major milestone towards achieving our goals is making Testmagic open source in Q1 2020.
